Meet Stefan
Strategic Co-Pilot
for Cell Biology, Imaging & Lab Innovation
I’m Stefan Prechtl, a scientist turned consultant with over 20 years of experience in pharmaceutical R&D. I founded CELLIMA to support research teams like yours in building scalable, well-structured lab systems – especially where biology, imaging, and automation intersect.
How I Work
I guide research teams through strategic planning and prioritization
I bridge gaps between biology, technology, and data
I translate complexity into scalable, future-ready systems
Whether it’s a screening campaign, a Cell Painting setup, a 3D model implementation, or an HCI–AI integration – I help teams make informed, confident decisions across disciplines and development stages.
Why I Do What I Do
During my years in early-stage drug discovery, I realized that great technology alone doesn’t guarantee progress.
What research teams truly need is clarity:
in lab workflows
in interdisciplinary collaboration
and in decision-making about tools and processes.
So I shifted my focus from operating within systems to helping others build better ones.
How I Add Value
-
e.g. roadmap planning, feasibility assessment, cross-functional alignment for 3D-organoid facilities
-
e.g. defining interfaces between assay design, microscope control, and centralized data processing
-
e.g. bridging biology, AI, and lab operations for early-stage screening campaigns
-
hosting expert interviews that connect scientific trends with real lab challenges
